Abstract
ABSTRACT The article discusses the Italian labor movement and its influence in the production of the Brazilian health movement thinking, problematizing the way in which the notion of collective is being built in the field of collective health. It is intended to understand how marginal forces contributed to the composition of the thinking that animated the Brazilian health movement in the 1970's and 1980's. The objective is to discuss elements of the Italian context of the second half of the twentieth century that help to think the notion of collective within the sanitary movement and collective health. In order to achieve the proposed objective, a historical rescue of the Italian labor thought will be carried out. History is used from a genealogical point of view, that is, to diagnose that what we are in the present, because in this way it seems possible to offer new elements that help to think the Brazilian sanitary movement today.
